Guwahati: Bank of India organised branch adalat, a pan India campaign from January 31 to February 5, 2022 to provide relief to borrowers affected by the pandemic, especially small borrowers whose loans are below Rs 25 lakh.
A spokesperson said the adalat had covered agricultural, MSME, retail and personal loans. “We have 80 branches under BOI Guwahati zone covering the seven states of the northeastern states and more than 500 NPA borrowers worth around Rs 3 crore outstanding have benefited from the campaign,” the spokesperson said, adding that in view of the overwhelming response, the bank has decided to re-launch the campaign from February 28 to March 5, 2022 to enable borrowers who could not avail the benefits.
Countrywide, around 6,84,000 NPA borrowers were eligible to avail benefit under this campaign and the bank had settled the NPAs amounting to Rs 407 crore during the campaign.
