Malaika Arora often makes it to headlines for her relationship with boyfriend/actor Arjun Kapoor. The couple who has been dating for quite a long time had made it official in 2019 through a social media post that came from Malaika’s personal handle. Over the years, the two have faced a lot of trolling for the age-gap between them. However despite all the outside noise, Arjun and Malaika have stood firmly besides each other. In a recent interview, the ‘Chhaiya Chhaiya’ star opened up about people’s misogynistic approach towards women dating men who are younger than them. While talking to a leading magazine, Malaika said, ‘It’s very important for women to have a life after a breakup or a divorce… There’s a misogynist approach to female relationships. It’s often considered a sacrilege for a woman to date a younger man.’ Notably, Malaika Arora is currently 48 and boyfriend Arjun Kapoor is 36. Calling herself a ‘strong and a work in progress’ woman, Malla added, ‘I’m a reflection of my mother, as I embody her strength and grit, and mirror her life subconsciously. She always told me to live life on my terms and be independent.’ Malaika Arora was previously married to Arbaaz Khan, however, the coupled separated and got officially divorced in 2017. While talking to a news portal in 2019, Malaika had said that she was scared of being in a relationship again after her 18-year marriage ended. She stated, ‘When my marriage ended, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be in another relationship and was scared of being heartbroken. But I also wanted to be in love, nurture a relationship, and this new me gave me the confidence to put myself out there and take a chance.
