Dibrugarh: As part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, the income tax department conducted an interactive session with the students of DPS, Dibrugarh, on Saturday.
Students from classes 8 to 10 participated in the event that was held on the topic, “The importance of paying tax and ease of tax compliance”.
Jibanta Kumar Das, joint commissioner of income tax, Ojing Dameng, assistant commissioner of income tax, circle-1, Dibrugarh, income tax officers Babul Roy, Deepak Jagannath Kumar, Ritwik Upadhyay, Anurag Mahella and income tax inspector Asish Pradhan interacted with the students.
The officials shared the concept of income tax, how the amount collected by tax is utilised by the government and why an ethical individual should pay tax. DPS, Dibrugarh, board member Banita Jain was also present at the event.
