DJI has launched the Mavic 3 drone. It is the successor to the company’s Mavic 2 drone and is said to represent the “most comprehensive improvement” to the Mavic lineup in three years. The new drone comes with performance boosts for every function and features a foldable design.
The standard version of DJI Mavic 3 is priced at $2,199 (approx. Rs 1,64,000). Its Fly More Combo with extra accessories and batteries carried a price tag of $2,999 (approx. Rs 2,30,000).
While the Mavic 3 Cine Premium Combo with 1TB SSD and Apple ProRes 422 HQ video recording is priced at $4,999 (approx. Rs 3,72,000).
DJI Mavic 3 is equipped with a dual-camera system. It offers a 28x hybrid zoom lens and comes with a 24mm Hasselblad lens with a 4/3 sensor. The drone can capture 20MP photos and shoot 5.1K video at 50 frames per second. It is also capable of recording 4K video at 120 frames per second for slow-motion footage.
The improved image sensor is said to cut down on noise in low-light environments and has an adjustable aperture of f/2.8 to f/11. The secondary camera measures a 162mm telephoto lens with an f/4.4 aperture for zoom shots.
The new drone comes with omnidirectional obstacle sensors and has a 200-meter range that includes six fish-eye sensors and two wide-angle sensors to avoid objects even in complicated environments. It also features an upgraded ActiveTrack 5.0 feature and can incorporate signals from GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou satellites.
There is also an integrated AirSense system that can warn drone pilots about nearby planes and helicopters as well as geofencing alerts when near sensitive locations.
DJI Mavic 3 is claimed to offer a longer battery life of up to 46 minutes flight time. It produces 35 per cent less drag than the previous modes for faster top speeds. Other features available on the device are an advanced Return to the Home system and an upgraded transmission system for clearer video transmission.
Accessories that come with the drone are a new smart controller with an extended transmission distance, a 65W portable fast charger, a convertible carrying bag and a wide-angle lens with 108-degree field of view.
