Singer Bhuban Badyakar, who became an overnight sensation with his song ‘Kacha Badam’ met with a car accident on February 28. The unfortunate incident took place when he was learning to drive his recently purchased vehicle. Bhuban was rushed to the super speciality hospital as he has hurt his chest. Now, talking about Bhuban, after his song Kacha Badam became viral, Bhuban recently performed at Kolkata’s pub. Earlier, in an interaction with ETimes, Bhuban had said, “Many people in my area had insulted and mocked me when I first came up with this song. And now, when the song has gone viral, they want to meet me, visit me at my home. Some have even urged me to take a selfie with them. This is the irony. Time and luck change for everyone.” Bhuban, a resident of Kuraljuri village in Lakshminarayanpur Panchayat of West Bengal’s Birbhum district, is a peanut seller. He supports his family, including three kids, by selling peanuts in exchange for small trinkets and broken household items. He cycles to faraway villages to sell peanuts. According to reports, he manages to sell 3- 4 kgs of peanuts in exchange for Rs 200-250 income every day. His popular song Kacha Badam is based on the widespread Baul folk tune. The Kacha Badam song became an instant hit on social media after celebrities and influencers started grooving to the song. Bhuban became an overnight internet star after musician Nazmu Reachat created the song’s remix. A few days ago, Godhulibela Music, the music house that created the remixed version of the song, gave Bhuban a sum of Rs 3 lakh.
