Hubballi: Various organisations, schools, colleges and celebrities have condoled the death of veteran poet Channaveera Kanavi.
Legislative council chairman Basavaraj Horatti, former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, minister Shankar Patil Munenakoppa have issued condolence messages and have termed Kanavi’s death as great loss to literature.
Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) postponed its ‘Central Budget-2022 Analysis’ programme as a token of respect to Kanavi. KCCI office bearers recalled the contribution of Kanavi to the Kannada literary world.
Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Lingaraj Angadi, honorary secretary KS Koujalagi and Jinadat Hadagali, treasurer SS Doddamani and other office bearers offered condolences to Chennaveera Kanavi.
NWKRTC former chairman Sadanand Danganavar has stated that the demise of Kanavi is a great loss to the state and language. Congress Vidyanagar block president Rajat Ullagaddimath said Kanavi was a nature lover and he motivated Kannadigas towards nature though his poems.
Members of Uttara Karnataka Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association offered floral tributes to the portrait of Kanavi, at Channamma Circle in Hubballi. Shekharayya Mathapati and other office bearers spoke about Kanavi.
