Hubballi: Former mayor and senior Congress worker Prakash Kyarakatti said that MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar is interfering too much in the Dharwad district Congress and that she should focus on party affairs in her home district of Belagavi rather than Dharwad.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said that its unfortunate that no one in the party in Dharwad district is raising a voice against the intervention of Laxmi Hebbalkar, who is from Belagavi.
“She celebrated the victory of a person who defeated an official Congress party candidate. I lost in the corporation elections, Hebbalkar did not even bother to meet or talk to me about my defeat and went to celebrate the victory of an independent candidate,” he added.
“Rajat Ullagaddimath is acting as a high command in the district, who is also a relative of Laxmi Hebbalkar. He has done nothing for the Congress party,” he said.
Kyarakatti took a U turn on leaving Congress and joining BJP. “As party president DK Shivakumar assured me of giving a position in the party, I have decided to continue in the Congress,” he said.
