Hubballi: The All India Kisan Khet Majdoor Sangathan of the District Samiti is organising the second state-level Raitha Krishi Karmika Sammelana on April 28 and 29 in Dharwad.
Speaking to the media here, state president of the samiti, T S Sunit Kumar, said that the event will be inaugurated on April 28.
Writer Baraguru Ramachandrappa will inaugurate the sammelana.
Writer Allamaprabhu Betadur will be present. To mark the inauguration of the event, a raitha and krishi karmika procession will be held. Social activist S R Hiremath will inaugurate the Sukti exhibition. More than 5,000 people from different parts of the state are expected to attend the conference, he said.
“The state government must immediately take back the APMC Act and Land Reforms Act. The electricity amendment bill-2021 should not be implemented. Under the MGNREGA, at least 200 days work should be allotted. The privatised water scheme, Jala Jeevan Mission plan, should be withdrawn. The right letters and documents for bagair hukum cultivators should be provided immediately,” they demanded.
All these issues will be discussed at the two-day event, by the guests and special invitees, and chalk out plans to put pressure on the government, to press for these demands in the days to come, he said.
