Guwahati: The mutilated body of an unidentified man was recovered by police from Dighalipukhuri at Ambari area here on Monday.
“Nothing has been found on the deceased to identify him. Investigation has been started to identify him. The man seems to be in his 50s,” a police officer said.
Police sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
After the preliminary investigation, police suspected that the man might have hit some rocks on any concrete structure nearby as his head was found partially mutilated.
On Sunday, the body of a woman was found in a washroom of the GMCH.
The woman was identified as Ahshiya Khatun (21) and she had come to the hospital for the treatment of her child.
The family members of the deceased accused her husband Hadi Ali of being involved in her death. According to her family members, Ali, who is Ashiya’s second husband, had a fight with her on Saturday night inside the hospital complex.
