NEW DELHI: A day after India removed the cap on the number of flights to and from Ukraine, Air India said on Friday it will operate three special flights from the country, which faces the threat of a war, on February 22, 24 and 26.
Given hundreds of Indians want to return from Ukraine and all tickets on these flights have been sold, the Tata Group airline said it is “in the process of increasing” the number of flights.
Currently, no Indian carrier flies to the restive country. Ukraine International Airlines has a once-aweek Kyiv-Delhi non-stop flight; it may double the frequency next month.
